As we enter into April, which means that we're nearly
1/3 of the way through 2018 already, we've finally had the chance to look back on the brilliant year of 2017 and celebrate our wonderful successes! We'd love to share them with you all and tell you about some of our biggest highlights.
Edo Sushi in Leeds
What better way to celebrate a fantastic year than with a night in
Edo Sushi- arguably the best Japanese food outside of Japan. We shot some images of our plates and bowls with them last year and have been going back for our Japanese food-fix ever since. It's well worth a visit for all Japanese food-lovers!
Successes of 2017 for The Japanese Shop
One of our most exciting triumphs of last year was our brand-spanking-new website, With bigger images and a better user experience, it was a jump we had been planning to make for some time and we're extremely pleased with the result. To make the most of our improved imagery capabilities, we began to invest in more lifestyle shots to showcase our wonderful products as best as possible. This is something we are going to continue to invest in so keep an eye out! We went from strength to strength throughout the year, achieving several contracts to supply new wholesale customers across Europe – including a special order of 350 Japanese scrolls to a new client in Italy! We supplied products to customers in nearly 50 different customers, including Japan! This is such an exciting achievement for us, particularly as our sales have doubled in the last 4 years. Our passion for authentic and quality Japanese products has taken us leaps and bounds over the last few years, with 2017 being no exception.
The Japanese Shop has seen an increasing number of clients in the food industry, with various gastropubs and oriental restaurants placing more of a focus on the way they present their food. With this, some have come across our
beautiful Japanese tableware products and have invested in them for their restaurants.
What Have We Been up to at the Beginning of 2018?
And for 2018? We started the year off with a
lovely pop-up shop at the wonderful
RHS Harlow Carr gardens in Harrogate. Here, we were able to re-connect with old customers, meet existing ones, and indeed meet new customers. At The Japanese Shop, there's nothing more rewarding than seeing people fall in love with our products as much as we love them. And having something so local to our Harrogate showroom was brilliant.
